  3. SSSS Email will be a 30pt grade this week: SSSS email due by 5pm. I will be grading for: 1) Sincerely; 2-3) Subject and Greeting; 4) Complete sentences are used; 5-8) All SSSSs present and in sentences; 9-10) Emailed today by 5pm
  4. Final PGP is due by Saturday, 3pm!

Tuesday, 9 September

1) Set up a page of Cornell notes.
2) As you watch the video below, take notes:

  1. Why is revisiting notes important? Sketch the graph.
  2. List ways to revisit and use your notes.
  3. List what I should see in your notes if you repeatedly revisit them.
3) After you watch the video, revise your notes with a neighbor.
4) Discuss: What do awesome notes look like? What do non-awesome notes look like?
5) Add on to your notes one more time.
6) Put your notes in the Advisory section of your binder. Add them to your TOC.

Wednesday, 10 September
Homework: SSSS email due by 5pm. I will be grading for: 1) Sincerely; 2-3) Subject and Greeting; 4) Complete sentences used; 5-8) All SSSSs present and in sentences; 9-10) Emailed today by 5pm

1) Warm Up: Add HOT questions to the margins of your C-notes on C-notes from yesterday.
2) Before you read: List text features present in The Curve of Forgetting article.
3) Partner read and annotate.
  1. Why should you study?
  2. What is an effective way to review material?
4) After you read:
  1. Label chunks of the text.
  2. Add the article to your TOC.
  3. Write one sentence relating The Curve of Forgetting to Cornell note-taking and -using.

Thursday, 11 September

Homework: Email updated PGP to me no later than 3pm Saturday, 13 September

1) Warm Up: Add HOT questions to each of the chunks you labelled in the Curve of Forgetting article.
2) Finalize your PGP draft and show it to me. Include:

  1. Two areas of growth
  2. SMART goals for September, October, November, and December
  3. Two ideas for next steps in January
  4. List of resources you'll need
