Tuesday, 20 January
College Ecology

1) Warm Up: Postive Moments Mural 
  1. Add a positive quote or memory to the big paper in the back of the room. OR
  2. Flip through the magazines until you find something that helps you be positive/makes you laugh or smile. Paste it on the mural.
2) College Lecture
  1. Look over the three column notes sheet and make sure you understand what to add:
    1. Left: Add HOT questions later.
    2. Center: Take notes during the video.
    3. Right: What makes the lecture easy to understand? Hard to understand? Track your thinking and questions you have during the video.
  2. Watch the video and add to your notesheet.
  3. After watching the video, see if you can add at least one HOT Question.

1) Warm Up: Content Connections:
  1. List characteristics of the best and worst college lectures you've been to on the board.
2) College Lecture Survival Storytime
  1. You have five minutes to polish your College Lecture Cheatsheet book/comic.
  2. Then, merge with two other groups.
  3. Each group will present. Make sure everyone talks in a loud, proud, college voice.
  4. On the back of your book OR in an email with a link to your digital cheatsheet, record a positive comments and two tips you got from the two other groups (2 pluses, 4 deltas total).
  5. Turn in your work.
3) Exit Ticket: On a sticky note, tell me one change you will make to what you do before, during, OR after college lectures to be more successful. Post this on the door on your way out!

  2. Fill in the website feedback form!


2) College Lecture Survival Storytime

  2. Then, merge with two other groups.
  3. Each group will present. Make sure everyone talks in a loud, proud, college voice.

  3. Challenge yourself to add multiple HOT Questions.
  4. Compare and contrast your two note sheets.
  5. Self-Assess: Which lecture survival tips helped you the most?
